When should you use meridia?
If you ask a doctor, the advice will be to try exercise and diet first. The manufacturer only recommends the use of meridia for people who already have a BMI of more than 30 (or more than 27 if your blood pressure is high, you have diabetes or other health problems). Use one of the charts or online calculators to find out your BMI.
What lifestyle changes should you make?
Because meridia only tricks your brain into believing your stomach is full, it still comes down to you to eat less. That means smaller portions of more healthy food. Just as important, you should start a program of physical exercise.
Why eat less and exercise more??
You only lose weight if you burn more calories than you eat. Even when you sleep, there is some calorie burn to keep you breathing and your heart pumping. Start walking around when you wake up and the rate of burn increases. So you have to count the calories going in, and make sure you exercise enough to burn off more than you eat. If you build up muscle, this burns more calories even at rest.
Develop new habits
For most people, eating less than 1,200 calories per day is dangerous. This leads to malnutrition and starvation. Above 1,200 calories, the rule is, “no pain, no gain”. Just as you expect the government to balance the budget, you must make life-changing decisions. First off, you have to eat less. If you stay home, you control the servings. If you eat out, share an adult portion or buy a kid’s meal (which should be smaller). Secondly, eat a reduced-calorie, low-fat, high-fibre diet. Monitor your weight. If your weight continues to rise, you are eating too much of the wrong food. If your weight is stable, you now have a clear indication of the calorie tipping point. Now exercise or eat even less to lose weight. If you feel hungry, take meridia.
